Blackcars Courchevel — Private Chauffeur, Limousine & Disposal Service

Private chauffeur and limousine hire in Courchevel — driver and car at disposal throughout your stay, airport transfers from Geneva, Lyon, Turin, Milan Malpensa, Chambéry, Paris CDG and Orly, in-resort mobility across Courchevel 1850, Moriond, Village, La Tania and Le Praz, day programmes to Méribel, Val Thorens, Megève, and all Tarentaise valley destinations. Ultra Luxury fleet for the world's most exclusive ski resort. Dedicated driver for the full duration of your stay — no waiting, no apps, no uncertainty.

Blackcars Courchevel — Your Driver Is Already Here

Courchevel 1850 is, by almost any measure, the most exclusive ski resort in the world. Six Michelin-starred restaurants within the village boundaries. Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, and Hermès on the pistes. Chalets that sell for eight figures. A clientele that includes royalty, oligarchs, major industrialists, and the highest stratum of global finance, all converging on one Savoyard mountain each winter with an expectation of service that matches the elevation.

In this environment, transport is not a commodity resolved by an app. The question a Courchevel client asks is not "how do I get to the airport?" — it is "where is my driver?" The answer should always be: he is here, he knows the mountain road conditions today, his car is warm, your skis are loaded, and he is ready to leave at whatever moment suits you. This is what Blackcars Courchevel provides: a dedicated professional driver and an appropriate vehicle, at your disposal for the full duration of your stay — from the airport on arrival day to the last run on departure.

Blackcars Courchevel operates as part of the Blackcars European network, with drivers experienced on all Alpine mountain routes and familiar with the specific logistics of the Courchevel valley — the altitude, the winter road requirements, the Saturday Tarentaise congestion, and the access dynamics of each of the six Courchevel villages from Le Praz at 1,300 metres to 1850 at the summit.

Driver & Car at Disposal — Your Private Mountain Chauffeur

The cornerstone of professional transport in Courchevel is the disposal model: a driver and vehicle allocated exclusively to you, available throughout your stay without pre-booking each journey individually. For a client staying at Courchevel 1850 for five days, this means:

  • Your driver arrives at Geneva Airport (or Lyon, or Turin) on your arrival day, meets you at arrivals, loads skis and luggage, and drives you directly to your chalet — no waiting for other passengers, no shuttle stops
  • Each morning, your car is at the chalet door at whatever time you designate — whether 8:30 for first lifts or noon for a relaxed ski afternoon
  • Lunches in the resort villages below 1850 — La Tania, Le Praz, Courchevel Village — are reached by car rather than on foot or by the free bus
  • Après-ski and dinner at any of the six Michelin-starred restaurants across the resort requires no pre-arrangement: call your driver at 23:00 and he collects you from the restaurant entrance
  • A day trip to Méribel for lunch at the Rond-Point or to Megève for shopping is organised in minutes with a single message
  • On departure day, your car is ready at the time of your choosing, your luggage and skis are loaded, and you depart for the airport with the comfort of a confirmed vehicle

Rates for driver and car at disposal are structured as half-day (4 hours), full-day (8 hours), and multi-day stay packages. For clients staying 5 to 7 days, a multi-day package provides a single driver throughout the stay — a driver who learns your preferences, knows your chalet, and is available with a single call at all hours of the day and evening.

Airport Transfers to Courchevel — All Major Airports

Courchevel is served by six international airports within practical driving distance. Choosing the right airport — and booking your transfer before arrival — is the first decision of a successful Courchevel stay.

All times approximate. The Saturday Tarentaise "bouchon" (traffic jam) between Albertville and Moûtiers regularly adds 1 to 2 hours to any Alpine transfer during the winter season. For Saturday arrivals, we strongly recommend booking early morning flights to clear the valley before the bouchon peaks (typically 09:00–16:00). Your driver monitors real-time conditions and takes the optimal route — via Annecy and Albertville on most days, with alternative via Chambéry when the A41 is clear.

Geneva Airport to Courchevel — The Principal Route

Geneva (GVA) is the primary gateway for Courchevel arrivals — offering the widest range of direct flights from London, Dubai, New York, Doha, and all major European cities, and the most established transfer infrastructure for the Three Valleys. The standard route from Geneva to Courchevel runs south via the A41 through Annecy, then east via Albertville to Moûtiers, before the final 25-kilometre climb up the Tarentaise valley to the resort. In normal weekday conditions, this journey takes 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes. On peak Saturdays, the same journey can take 4 hours or more due to the Tarentaise bouchon — the weekly traffic jam created by tens of thousands of guests arriving and departing simultaneously on Saturday changeover day.

For Saturday arrivals, we recommend flights landing before 08:00 or after 18:00 to avoid the worst of the congestion. For clients with more flexibility, a Friday afternoon arrival or a Sunday departure eliminates the Saturday bouchon entirely. Your Blackcars driver monitors Tarentaise traffic conditions in real time and will advise on the optimal departure time from the airport.

Lyon Airport to Courchevel

Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LYS) is the second most important gateway for Courchevel, particularly for guests arriving on long-haul connections through Paris or from Spanish, Italian, and Eastern European cities not directly served by Geneva. The journey from Lyon to Courchevel is approximately 185 kilometres — 2 hours 10 to 2 hours 40 minutes under normal conditions via the A43 motorway to Chambéry and then the A43/A430 to Albertville and Moûtiers. Lyon is also the logical airport for arriving guests whose itinerary continues to other French Alpine resorts — Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes — after Courchevel.

Turin Caselle to Courchevel — The Italian Gateway

Turin Caselle Airport (TRN) is an underutilised but excellent Courchevel gateway — particularly for Italian clients, for guests arriving via Emirates on the Dubai–Turin route, and for private jets positioning from Italian cities. The journey from Turin to Courchevel crosses the French border via the Fréjus road tunnel (Mont Cenis pass in summer) and reaches the Tarentaise valley via Modane and Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne — a spectacular Alpine route of approximately 160 kilometres and 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes under normal conditions. The Turin routing completely avoids the Tarentaise bouchon from the Geneva direction, as it approaches Moûtiers from the south rather than the north.

Milan Malpensa to Courchevel

Milan Malpensa (MXP) is the practical hub for guests arriving from Asia, the Middle East, North America, and sub-Saharan Africa on Emirates, Qatar, Cathay Pacific, and other long-haul carriers that do not directly serve Geneva or Lyon. The journey from Malpensa to Courchevel is approximately 245 kilometres — 2 hours 30 to 3 hours under normal conditions via the A26 to Chambéry and then to Moûtiers. Malpensa is also the arrival point for Italian private jets. We provide direct transfer from Malpensa to Courchevel with an experienced Alpine driver for the full mountain approach.

Paris CDG & Orly to Courchevel — The Long Drive

For clients who choose to drive from Paris — combining a Paris stay with a Courchevel programme, or whose international arrival routes through CDG or Orly — we provide long-distance private chauffeur from both Paris airports directly to Courchevel. Paris CDG to Courchevel is approximately 575 kilometres — 5 hours 30 to 6 hours under normal conditions via the A6 and A43. Paris Orly is approximately 545 kilometres — 5 hours to 5 hours 30 minutes. On Fridays, Paris weekend departures create significant congestion on the A6 south of Paris — add 1 to 1 hour 30 minutes for Friday afternoon departures. The return journey from Courchevel to Paris on Sundays is similarly affected. We recommend early morning Friday departures (before 07:00) and Sunday morning returns (before 07:00) to avoid the worst of the Paris-direction weekend traffic.

In-Resort Mobility — Courchevel & The Three Valleys

Within Courchevel, the villages are connected by lifts for skiers but require a vehicle for any non-ski mobility — restaurant dinners across village levels, helicopter connections at the Altiport, children's ski school drop-offs, equipment shopping, and après-ski. The in-resort road network is narrow, icy, and managed with access restrictions during peak times. Your dedicated driver knows every village entrance, every restaurant drop-off point, and every one-way system in the resort.

Beyond Courchevel, day programmes reach the wider Three Valleys: Méribel (approximately 25 minutes by road via the Croisette), Val Thorens (approximately 45 minutes via Moûtiers — or by lift in ski season), and Les Menuires. Outside the Three Valleys, Megève (approximately 45 minutes), Les Arcs/Peisey (approximately 30 minutes), and La Plagne (approximately 30 minutes) are all practical day destinations with your dedicated driver.

Courchevel Altiport — Private Jet & Helicopter Connections

Courchevel Altiport (ICAO: LFLJ) sits at 2,008 metres above sea level within the resort boundary — the world's second highest commercial altiport. Its runway has an 18.5% gradient (among the steepest of any commercial landing strip on earth), requires specially certified pilots, and accommodates only small piston and turboprop aircraft and helicopters. No commercial jets or business jets can land here. For private jet guests, the standard procedure is to fly into Geneva, Chambéry, or Turin and complete the final leg by helicopter (Geneva to Courchevel Altiport: approximately 30 to 35 minutes) or by our private chauffeur. We coordinate collection from the Altiport helipad for helicopter arrivals — typically 5 to 15 minutes to your chalet — and vehicle positioning at the Altiport for departures to connect to helicopter services.

Fleet for Courchevel — Alpine Winter Specification

All vehicles deployed on Courchevel airport transfers and in-resort service are equipped with proper Alpine winter tyres — not all-season tyres, not snow socks, but full Alpine winter tyres meeting the French mountain road mandatory winter equipment requirements. For luggage, ski bags, and boot bags, our Mercedes V-Class provides the optimal combination of passenger comfort and storage capacity for groups of up to 6. For principals and senior guests, Mercedes S-Class and Ultra Luxury vehicles provide the appropriate standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best airport for Courchevel transfers?

Geneva (GVA) offers the widest flight choice and is the primary gateway — 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes in normal conditions. Chambéry (CMF) is the closest at 100 kilometres (1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 minutes) but has fewer direct international connections. Lyon (LYS) is excellent for connections from Paris and Spanish/Italian cities. Turin (TRN) is the best option for Italian clients and Dubai–Turin long-haul arrivals, and has the advantage of approaching Moûtiers from the south — avoiding the Saturday Tarentaise bouchon from the north.

How bad is the Saturday Tarentaise bouchon?

The Saturday bouchon — the weekly traffic jam on the Tarentaise valley road between Albertville and Moûtiers — is the single most significant transport variable at Courchevel. On peak Saturdays (school holiday weekends, February half-term), the bouchon can add 1 to 3 hours to any Geneva or Lyon transfer. We strongly recommend arriving on Friday afternoon or Sunday, or on Saturdays booking a flight landing before 08:00 or after 18:00. The Turin approach (via Fréjus tunnel from the south) is entirely unaffected by the Tarentaise bouchon.

Can you provide a dedicated driver for our full Courchevel stay?

Yes. A dedicated driver for the full duration of your stay — from airport arrival to airport departure — is the cornerstone of our Courchevel service. The driver stays locally, is available with a single call throughout the day and evening, knows your chalet and all the resort villages, and manages all transport logistics for your group without requiring individual bookings for each journey. Contact us to discuss your dates and group size for a bespoke stay package.

Do your vehicles carry skis and ski equipment?

Yes. Our Mercedes V-Class accommodates up to 6 passengers with ski bags, boot bags, and luggage in a single vehicle. For larger groups or extended luggage, we coordinate multiple vehicles. All vehicles are equipped with ski racks or extended boot space on request. Ski carriage is included in the transfer price.

Can you arrange transfers between Courchevel and other Three Valleys resorts?

Yes. We provide inter-resort transfers throughout the Three Valleys — Courchevel to Méribel (approximately 25 minutes by road), Courchevel to Val Thorens (approximately 45 minutes via Moûtiers), and day trips to Megève, Les Arcs, La Plagne, and all Tarentaise valley destinations.
