Private chauffeur and transfer service in Riga and Latvia — Riga International Airport (RIX), Old Town (Vecriga), Presidential Palace (Rīgas pils), Saeima Parliament, Jūrmala resort, and all destinations across Latvia and the Baltic states. Hourly disposal, airport transfers, event packages, and Ultra Luxury fleet for diplomats, corporate executives, and private clients in the largest city of the Baltic states — and the Art Nouveau capital of the world.
Riga is Latvia's capital and the largest city in the Baltic states — a metropolis of 600,000 people (metropolitan area over 1 million) whose Old Town (Vecriga) has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, and whose Art Nouveau district contains the highest concentration of Art Nouveau architecture of any city on earth. More than 800 Art Nouveau buildings line the streets of the Quiet Centre (Klusais centrs) along Alberta iela, Elizabetes iela, and Strelnieku iela — an architectural inheritance of extraordinary quality from the early 20th century, when Riga was one of the five largest cities of the Russian Empire and among the most prosperous industrial and commercial cities in northern Europe.
Today, Riga is NATO's eastern flank in practice as much as in theory. Latvia is home to the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Battlegroup Latvia — a multinational battle group of approximately 2,000 troops from eight NATO nations (Canada, Spain, Albania, Czech Republic, Iceland, Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia), headquartered at the Ādaži Military Base north of Riga. This military presence, combined with Latvia's shared borders with Russia and Belarus, makes Riga one of the most active NATO diplomatic and defence capitals in the alliance — a continuous flow of allied defence ministers, chiefs of defence, and senior NATO officials generating a specific and elevated category of protocol transport demand that has intensified dramatically since 2022.
Latvia joined the EU in 2004, the Eurozone in 2014, and Schengen in 2007. Blackcars Riga is part of the Blackcars European network, connecting Riga to Tallinn (approximately 3 hours 15 minutes), Vilnius (approximately 4 hours), Warsaw (approximately 9 hours), and all Baltic and European destinations. Rail Baltica — the high-speed rail project that will connect Riga to Warsaw and beyond — is under construction, with the Riga Airport station expected to open circa 2026–2030.
Riga International Airport (IATA: RIX) is Latvia's only international airport and the busiest in the Baltic states, handling approximately 7 million passengers annually. It is the primary hub for airBaltic (which accounts for approximately 58% of all passenger traffic) and a major base for Ryanair (approximately 24%), alongside Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, and Norwegian Air Shuttle. The airport connects Riga to nearly 100 destinations in peak summer season and over 80 in winter.
The airport is located in the municipality of Mārupe, approximately 10 kilometres southwest of Riga city centre. It operates from a single modern terminal with three zones: Zone A (airBaltic domestic and Schengen), Zone B (Schengen international), and Zone C (non-Schengen international). All arrivals exit through the shared arrivals hall on the ground floor, where your Blackcars driver waits with a name sign.
Important note on rail connections: There is currently no direct rail link between Riga Airport and the city centre. This has been discussed for decades; the Rail Baltica project will eventually deliver an airport station, but it is not operational as of 2026. Bus route 22 connects the airport to the city centre in approximately 30 minutes for €1.50–€1.15. For all clients with luggage, groups, diplomatic arrivals, and any destination requiring confirmed door-to-door service, private chauffeur is the only reliable alternative — especially for destinations beyond the bus corridor (Jūrmala, the Gauja Valley, or any intercity destination).
Rail Baltica context: The Rail Baltica high-speed rail project — connecting Riga to Vilnius, Warsaw, and Berlin by high-speed rail — is the largest infrastructure project in the Baltic states' history. The Riga Airport station building is expected to be completed approximately 2026–2027, with full operations by approximately 2030. When operational, it will fundamentally change the Baltic ground transport landscape.

* Approximate times under normal traffic. The A10 highway from RIX and the Vanšu Bridge approach to Old Town can be congested during weekday peak hours (07:30–09:30 and 16:00–18:30). The route to Jūrmala via the A10 is generally fast. The Via Baltica (E67) south to Vilnius and north to Tallinn is Latvia's principal intercity highway.
Jūrmala — the resort city stretching 26 kilometres along Latvia's Baltic coast, approximately 35 kilometres from Riga Airport — is Latvia's most prestigious address: a string of wooden Art Nouveau and wooden historicist villas along pine-forested dunes, beloved by Baltic oligarchs, Russian business families, and increasingly by Western European private clients discovering the pristine Baltic coast. The Kemeri National Park borders Jūrmala to the south. The journey from Riga Airport to Jūrmala by private chauffeur is approximately 28 to 42 minutes — a direct route on the A10 motorway without entering the city at all. For villa guests and private clients arriving directly to Jūrmala from the airport, we provide seamless direct airport-to-villa-gate transfers.
Riga is the seat of Latvia's constitutional institutions. The Presidential Palace (Rīgas pils) — a medieval castle rebuilt in the 1920s on the edge of the Daugava River at the western end of Old Town — is the official residence of President Edgars Rinkēvičs. The Saeima (Parliament) is at Jēkaba iela 11, at the edge of Old Town. The Cabinet of Ministers is at Brīvības bulvāris 36.
NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Latvia — headquartered at Ādaži Military Base, approximately 25 kilometres northeast of central Riga — is one of NATO's most active forward presence deployments, with troops from eight allied nations rotating through continuously. The allied nations' defence ministers, chiefs of defence, and senior NATO officials who visit the battlegroup generate a specific category of protocol transport demand unique to Latvia's frontline position in the alliance. We provide exclusively allocated, fully discreet chauffeur for all NATO, diplomatic, and state occasions in Riga, coordinating with the Latvian State Security Service (VDD) and protocol offices as required.
The Latvian Song and Dance Festival — held every five years in Riga — is the defining cultural event of Latvian national identity: tens of thousands of singers, dancers, and musicians performing simultaneously at the Mežaparks Open Air Stage (the largest outdoor stage in the Baltic states) and at venues across the city for a week-long celebration that draws Latvians from across the world back to Riga. Like its Estonian counterpart in Tallinn, the Song Festival played a direct role in the Baltic Singing Revolution of the late 1980s that led to restored independence. When the Festival runs, it is the single largest cultural transport demand event in Latvia. We provide private transport for international guests and diplomatic visitors throughout the festival.
Jāņi — the Latvian Midsummer celebration on 23–24 June — is the most important folk celebration in the Latvian national calendar, combining ancient Baltic pagan traditions (bonfires, flower garlands, oak-leaf crowns, special cheese, and all-night singing) with a modern festival atmosphere that sees much of the population leave Riga for the countryside. For private clients and diplomatic visitors wishing to experience a genuine Latvian Jāņi celebration in the country, we provide transport from Riga to countryside estates and rural celebrations throughout Midsummer weekend.
Arsenāls — the Riga International Film Festival — held each October, is one of the most respected art cinema festivals in Northern Europe, presenting a programme of international auteur cinema at venues across Riga including the Splendid Palace cinema. For international film industry guests attending Arsenāls, we provide airport transfers and festival transport throughout the October event.
The Riga City Festival — held each August across the Old Town and central Riga — is the largest annual urban celebration in Latvia, combining open-air concerts, street performances, historic re-enactments, and markets across the entire historic centre of the city. For private guests and corporate hospitality groups attending the City Festival, we provide event transport and late-evening returns throughout the festival weekend.
The International Baltic Ballet Festival — held periodically at the Latvian National Opera — is one of the most prestigious ballet events in the Baltic and Nordic region, drawing principal dancers and companies from across Europe and beyond for a programme of classical and contemporary ballet of the highest calibre. For cultural guests and corporate patrons attending the Ballet Festival at the Opera House, we provide evening chauffeur and Ultra Luxury vehicle arrivals at the Aspazijas bulvāris entrance.
Riga is the largest financial and business centre in the Baltic states, home to the headquarters of major Latvian and regional companies (Latvenergo, Latvijas Gāze, ABLV Bank successor entities, Swedbank Latvia, SEB Banka) and the Baltic offices of major international corporations. The annual Baltic Investment Forum, the Riga Business Forum, and a growing calendar of technology and startup events make Riga an increasingly active destination for regional corporate investment activity. For corporate delegates attending business events and investor meetings in Riga, we provide airport transfers and full-day executive disposal throughout the year.
Blackcars operates a personalised dispatch service capable of managing transport operations of any scale from a single point of contact. A dedicated dispatcher coordinates all vehicles, drivers, pickup sequencing, and real-time schedule changes simultaneously — you communicate with one person, and every car is handled from there.
